Currently reading: ”The Mockingbirds” by Daisy Whitney
”Raw and riveting. Deserves a place of honor…alongside its soul sister, Speak.” - Justina Chen, author of ”North of Beautiful”

I’m about 70 pages in and not that excited about it anymore. I loved the premise of this one, feeling it had all the right elements for me to love it - dealing with rape, boarding school shenanigans, etc. - but I feel like something’s off.
I don’t like the main character - and not because she’s unlikable, but purely because I feel I didn’t get to know her that well. I can’t pin down if that’s because the author doesn’t go in-depth with her characters, or because I don’t enjoy her writing and hence find it hard to be interested in the storyline.

I will keep reading though, but for now the book doesn’t do its backcover reviews justice.
